Double Date?

The plan was to meet at 6:15 at a local bar.  I got there early, as I usually do, sipped on a sugar-free mojito and checked out my surroundings. Nice place, slowly filling up with well-dressed happy hour patrons.  In walks my guy.  He looks like so many other men I've dated, in fact it's kind of becoming a blur of faces and information, sometimes hard to combine the two and remember who is who.  This guy wore the black shirt typical of so many of my overweight dates, as if the shirt will magically hide those extra twenty or so pound.  Same face, same graying hair, same cologne... hey, wait a minute!  I know this guy...

So I ask, "You look awfully familiar.  Have we met before?"  Apparently we hadn't made much of an impression on each other on our first "date" because he assured me we hadn't met and I went along with it.  After all, he might have been right.  But that cologne, I hated it the first time we met and it smelled just as bad this time.  Yes, as delved into the dusty corners of my mind I came up with the scenario.  This was the guy who, during a free week on J Date, contacted me and strangely enough, turned out to live in the apartment directly above my ex-boyfriend.  I had cast him off after a brief date and now here we were again, through a totally different dating site, sharing what I knew would be another tedious hour.

Another dating disaster but I laughed all the way home.  This dating merry go round really can be a whirling blur if you let it!
